Jonas’ fourth birthday was fun. We just had a family day, which are always the best. We hung out in the morning and then after lunch we went to a D.A.R.E. Haunted House for kids 9 and under. I thought it would be short and fun, but we got there at 1, right when it was opening up, and there was a huge line already! We waited in line for about 40 minutes and then it took us 20 minutes to get through the whole thing!! It was horrible and lame. You would think that since it was for kids they’d have more lights on, but they didn’t. At time it was so dark you couldn’t see in front of you and had to feel along the walls! I’d say that wasn’t very thought out! A lot of kids were crying and one boy in front of us didn’t want to go through this one part where these big pillows were pushing against each other because it was so dark! I didn’t blame him, it was pretty scary. Luckily our kids were fine the whole time. I think they thought it was a wierd place to be! LOL. We decided never to do that again and I’d recommend to anyone living in Idaho Falls never to go to it either!
Jonas opened presents before dinner. He got a “Car’s” car mat from Mark and me, some “Cars” cars from my G&G Paulos and some little star wars figurines from my dad (thanks for sending the money for him! I picked out the presents for Jonas from them). He loved them all! I still have to go shopping and buy him something from his great G&G Doty. I was thinking a board game, or as Mark would call it a “bored” game!
Here are some pictures. Sorry it took so long to post them!
What a cute birthday boy! He picked out his whole outfit! The pants he’s wearing are actually Brynnan’s pants. He knew it was HIS DAY! He wouldn’t take no for an answer! LOL
He couldn’t wait to open his presents! This is the best picture Mark got because it all happened so fast! LOL
I took this picture:) Isn’t it cool. Jonas had the cars he got all lined up like this so I took the perfect shot:)
Jonas listening to Oma and Papa Blethen sing “happy birthday!” to him. He was licking the batter from the cake mix, but stopped long enough to talk to them.
For dinner we had Jonas’ favorite meal, chicken fries and french fries:) Yummy! and then cake of course. Jonas put on the candles himself and Mark decorated it with M&M’s:)
It was a good day and now I need to go get to work doing other stuff!
