Just Because

31 12 2008

I don’t have  reason for this post, I just wanted to make sure you all knew we’re still alive:) LOL The weather has actually been pretty nice the past couple days. Not much has been going on. I’ve been really lazy:P Yesterday I forgot Jonas had an appointment to get his braces fixed until I got a call from “The Arc” at 8:50. For some reason that call reminded me Jonas’ appointment was at 9:00!!! Brynnan was the only one dressed and luckily I had just changed his diaper. I had to get dressed and Jonas changed and dressed in less than 10 minutes!! We actually did it! Can you believe it. It took us 7 minutes to get out the door. Of course we were late, but only by 5 minutes! I ws totally psyched. We’re NEVER that fast!! I guess I just need pressure to get out the door.

Anyway, that’s about the only interesting thing that’s happened this week. Mark got half of today off and has all of tomorrow of. I want to take the kids outside to play so hopefully we’ll do that.

We don’t have any big plans for tonight. Mark and I will probably watch a movie. He told me he wanted to have a Back to the Future movie-athon and I was totally up for it, but then he told me he was only joking. Maybe we’ll watch one anyway.

I hope you all have an enjoyable evening. Start planning those resolutions!:)

justbecauseI decided to make banana bread for our neighbors on Sunday. I normally only do 4 bananas, but I did 6 this time the batter was flying more than normal. I thought it was funny.

justbecause2And here are my little guys playing with their new star wars toys. They have such wild imaginations. I love to hear them playing together!

Layout of the Day!!

28 12 2008

I’m waayyy excited…. I post up my scrapbook layouts on the Elemental Scraps gallery. I did one earlier this week of Mark last Christmas and it was picked as Layout of the Day for 12/26!!!:) I was so surprised!! I never thought one of my layouts would ever be picked for anything like that!

Anyway, here’s the layout and a few others I’ve done this week.

scrappage1

So silly!:) This one is the “Layout of the Day” winner.

I love the pictures on this one! Jonas is such a cute and cuddly boy.

This page turned out so cute! Can you tell I love Megann’s girls? LOL I need to have a girl of my own. She would get sooooo spoiled!!

My Favorite Present

27 12 2008

A few days before Christmas I tried guessing what one of my presents from Mark was. I guessed a hand vaccuum and Mark said that was right. I didn’t believe him, but I should have! I’ve been wanting one for a while and so he decided to finally buy me one since the kids make messes all the time that I constantly have the vaccuum sitting out! I love my new toy!! It’s wonderful. The filter in it can be washed out so I don’t have to keep buying replacements all the time. I’m sure I’ll have to buy one sometime, but it’s a nice feature. If you use a vaccuum a lot to clean up “small” messes this would be a big time saver for you. I totally recommend it!:)

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!

27 12 2008

Today is my mom’s Dad’s birthday. I thought I’d post a Happy Birthday wish!:) I hope you have had a great day. I wish we could’ve come down for Christmas. I love and miss you and hope we can visit soon…or you could come visit us!:)

My grandpa is great! Whenever we visited he would always tell us stories from when he was a kid living outside Las Vegas, what was the town called? I can’t remember, but it’s a cute little town. We visited there quite a few times. His parents lived there. I remember when I was 8 and I was fasting while visiting. Great Grandpa had a water cooler and I thought it was so cool that I forgot I was fasting and took a drink. Oops! LOL

I have so many great memories of growing up around my grandparents and visiting them. It’s nice to grow up around extended family. It’s too bad they’re so far away now!:P Idaho is much more awesome than California, hint, hint:)

I wanted to post a picture, but I couldn’t find them. LOL They came to visit us once in RExburg when Jonas was 7 months old and then once after we moved to Idaho Falls, before Brynnan was born.

Anyway, we miss you!

Christmas Day….a little late

27 12 2008

I know they’re a couple days late, but here are some pictures of us with all our Christmas day fun:) I am bummed that it was so yucky outside, though. I had bought the kids snow suits and wanted to go outside and play, but it was too windy and snowing for most of the day. All in all we had a wonderful day. The kids were so good and spent most of the day playing with their new toys. They didn’t even take a nap!! Although we did move them into their room for 2 hours with the door shut.

2christmasThis is a little tool bench that came with a bunch of tools from Santa. The boys LOVED it! I think it was their favorite toy.

1christmasThis was my present to Mark. Headphones for the computer, which is what cut my merry chistmas post short, so when he plays games it’s not so loud:) He told me he wanted them, but I told him they were too expensive, but “secretly” bought them for him later on. I say “secretly” because I thought he didn’t know about it, but he let me know after he opened it that he did know. I guess what happened was the billing information I put in didn’t go through so he had to reenter it all for me:P How annoying is that?!! I would’ve finally surprised him with a Christmas present after 6 years of marriage! LOL

3christmasThe drill is battery operated so they both love it!!

4christmasAnd this is what our living room looked like when we were all done opening presents!

6christmasAfter we opened all the presents the first thing the boys had to do was play Lego Star Wars with Daddy, of course! They had fun, but Mark had to help Brynnan and Jonas at the same time! Jonas even willingly turned it off after play for 45 minutes or so, maybe less than that even! I think it was a tougher game than he thought it would be.

5christmasI thought this picture of Brynnan was cute. Just lounging away. I think they were watching Charlie Brown’s Christmas.

7christmasThis is what happens when you give Brynnan a chocolate covered marshmallow Santa! Lovely mess right? I had to scrub at his hand for the melted chocolate to come off!! Don’t you love how the marshmallow is stuck to his hand and is about to fall off? He’s such an entertaining kid and definitely keeps me on my toes!

It was a fun day. I’m sad that it’s over, but I look forward to the new year. Have you thought up your new years resolutions yet?:)

Christmas Videos

25 12 2008

Our kids are so funny!:) Here are some videos of them opening presents and playing with them. I hope you don’t mind there being so many of them. They’re just so funny. At least we think so:)

Jonas has been talking about his letter to Santa and how he will bring him the game he wanted, ever since we wrote the letter 2 days ago. I love how he says, “I found it!”

For some reason they would only “fix” the kitchen if it was laying down. Why are they sitting on it? We thought maybe to balance it?

Such funny kids! I love how he’s underneath the kitchen!:)

BEFORE I say it in the video; Can you guess what movie they’re reenacting? This one cracks me up! I heard Jonas fake crying so I go in to find them doing this.

Such funny kids! Aren’t they so entertaining? I’ll have to post picture of Christmas Day tomorrow. I’m tired! Good-night. I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas!

More Christmas Eve

25 12 2008

Hello again. Here are some more cute pictures of Christmas Eve.

letter to SantaI have been talking about helping Jonas write a letter to Santa for a week or so now, but we kept forgetting. Tuesday night we finally remembered and so I sat with him and he wrote out this letter. In case you can’t read it, it says: “Dear Santa, I would like the Lego Star Wars game, please. Love, Jonas.” He’s getting good with his writing. I have to hold his hand up, but I can tell he’s moving the pen himself!I only have to guide a little bit:)

christmaseve1
This is the present Jonas made for us at school. Thanks for the reminder, Lindsey! The teacher wanted me to come in and take pictures of the kids, that’s how I knew what the present was, but then I guess the school had extra pictures from picture day so she just used those instead. Isn’t he a cutie?!!:) If you can’t tell, it’s a plastic ornament for the tree.

christmaseve3Reading a Christmas story before bedtime:) This was the boys’ favorite Christmas book this year. Every year it’s a tradition that we buy one or two new Christmas books. This year Mark bought a Curious George book, but the boys loved this snowman one.

christmaseve2Brynnan always has to read the same story with me, or Mark, whoever didn’t read it the first time. He’s a funny kid.

christmaseve4And here are the boys all clean and playing in their new Wall-E pajamas.

Merry Christmas!!

25 12 2008

I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and post some pictures of our Christmas celebration :) We hope you’re all having a wonderful day and look forward to seeing your pictures!

Christmas Eve

christmas eve

christmas eve 2Jonas and Brynnan loved their Wall-E pajamas! I thought it would be fun to start a new Christmas tradition of buying the kids pajamas and that’s the present they open on Christmas Eve.

christmas eve 3Jonas came home with this present from school on Friday so Mark opened it as our one present:) I already knew what it was, his teacher let me in on the secret. Isn’t the bag so cute?

Well, Mark wants to test out his Christmas present so I’ll have to do another post later today.

Snow CRAZY!!!!

22 12 2008

Ok, I’ve been living in an apartment complex the whole 2 and a half years we’ve lived here so now that we’re in a house this winter is A LOT different. I don’t mind so much the shoveling. I’ve done it a few times, but this weekend Mark has been the one to do it. This morning he went out at 6:20 and spent an hour doing our driveway and the front walkway. A neighbor 2 houses down was out with his snow blower and was kind enough to come over and do the longest sidewalk for Mark! He was very appreciative of that!

Even so, he was not able to get his car out of the snow to got to work today. That’s how much snow we’ve gotten and how bad the roads have become. It’s ridiculous that  the Mayor has waited this long to clean the roads. They were bad from the first storm that happened a week or so ago and nothing was done about plowing the residential streets. Now they aren’t even drivable for 2 cars going opposite directions! There’s one lane down our street! I was talking to Dustin about it and he didn’t think there was anything wrong with it…. I guess they’re just used to it, but why would you want to get used to it? It’s dangerous to drive down our street. Even if Mark was able to get his car out of the snow, he wouldn’t be able to drive it because it’s so low and the snow on the streets he would drive on would be way too high! I understand there’s an issue with money, but it will take more time to clean up the mess the streets are in now because they’re so bad. Why would the Mayor not have cleaned the streets from the earlier storm? Or why would he not have put out a mandate yesterday so the snow could be taken care of this morning instead of tomorrow??!!  Are mandates not allowed on Sundays?

Anyway, that’s my rant for today. I don’t want to just accept the fact that the residential streets are just not as important as the main streets. I find it very important for my husband to be able to go to work. I guess we’ll be limited to the one car for a few weeks most likely:P

Here are some pictures of how high the snow has gotten on the lawn! Mark shoveled our front walk this morning and now it’s covered in about 2-3 inches again! *SIGH* Poor Mark! All his hard work covered up soon after it’s done. I do appreciate it though!

snowcrazy3

This is the view from our garage. Look at how high the snow is!!!

snowcrazy2

This is our yard and sidewalk that was plowed by our neighbor. You can kind of see our one way street.

snowcrazy1

This is the view from our front door. Our plant is almost all covered in snow!

snowcrazy4This was last Wednesday when it was still warm enough to play outside in the snow. Brynnan kept throwing “snow balls” at Jonas. He didn’t like it!

snowcrazy5Jonas got Brynnan back real good!:)

No Cussing at Mommy!

21 12 2008

So tonight for dinner we had pancakes and bacon. Brynnan wanted to have juice in a cup with an ice cube so I gave him that, but I added a little bit of water to the juice (like we usually do for him). He got really upset about this and refused to take the cup and started saying gibberish and whining. Mark said “No cussing at Mommy, Brynnan!” and I laughed because that’s really what it sounded like he was doing. LOL
