Happy Birthday to ME!!

29 04 2009

Yes, it’s my birthday today:) I’m the big 2-6. How exciting! Mark left early this morning and I woke up a little later than I should have! I found a sweet little note from Mark on the counter that just made my day! :) Don’t you love it when you get little love notes from your hubby? I do!! Hehe.

The kids and I have had a pretty good day together so far. I have a ton of work to do, but I’ve been goofing off all day! LOL After Jonas got picked up for his therapy appointment Brynnan and I sat on the couch together laughing and tickling. Then he started kissing me over and over and over again. It’s a new fun little game he plays. The kids like to kiss and when we pull apart they say “MUAH!!!!” It’s really funny.

When Jonas gets back we’ll go to the Zoo. I thought it would be a fun little activity to do together on my birthday. I didn’t want to spend the whole afternoon cooped up! We’ll see how well I handle them on my own! I’ve never attempted taking them to the zoo by myself. Wish me luck!

My friend, and old college roommate, Patty, is coming over tonight to watch the kids so Mark and I can go out to eat. I’m looking forward to that! Especially since I haven’t seen him all day!

I know everyone wants to shower me with gifts so please do!! LOL Just Kidding! Save your money and get me a house warming gift instead!!! Yep, I was so nervous all day yesterday waiting to be approved for our loan and the lender called at 5:30 saying “You’re good to go!” I was sooooo excited!! What a great birthday present right? Today she told me we’ll probably be able to close early!! So I hope the sellers have a place to go so we can move in soon!

Well, Jonas just got home so we’re going to get ready for the zoo!

Today for lunch I gave the kids left over spaghetti. I was making myself a noodle salad and was mixing it all together.

Jonas asks: “Mommy, what are you doing?’

Me: “I’m making a noodle salad.”

Jonas: “Oh, it’s not for me. I don’t like it.”

Me: “You’ve never tried it so how do you know you don’t like it?”

Jonas replies: “I just don’t like it. It will make me dead.”

!! LOL This kid just makes me laugh!

Ah, MAN!!

Need I say more??!!!!!!

Busy Busy Busy!

25 04 2009

ARGH!! I’ve been meaning to write a few posts for a few days now (I decided to combine them all into one post), but life is sooo busy! I’m actually supposed to be editing photos right now, shhh don’t tell! LOL

The Idaho Falls Zoo opened on Saturday April 11th so we decided it would be fun to go together. We bought a pass so I could go with the kids however much I want so I’m excited about that!! We strolled Jonas around in his wheel chair and Brynnan pretty much dragged us along!

busy3

Here’s Brynnan charging ahead of us. Fortunately, we had the Monkey Backpack, which he actually loves to wear, until I pull back on him when he gets too far ahead:) HEhehe. It’s so much fun being a mom…. :)

busy4

The boys’ favorite part of the Zoo was the Tigers! Last year it was the Zebra’s, even though there weren’t any last year. This year they were there and Jonas passed them off like they were nothing unusual and wanted to see the Tigers!! LOL

busy5

Mark and Jonas being grumpy because they didn’t want to leave the zoo. (Of course Mark is putting up an act. Only kids would enjoy the Idaho Falls zoo!! LOL)

Jonas is back in school and has been for 2 weeks. I have to drive him to and from, which is totally throwing my normal morning routine off! Usually he rides the bus so I don’t have to worry about getting dressed or getting Brynnan dressed, but now I do:P I then have to go pick him up 2 and a half hours later and this week he’ll start going to therapy again, which I’ll have to drive him to and from. Thankfully Medicaid pays for mileage. It’s not much, but at least it helps a little bit!

Jonas is doing great with his cast! He just amazes me. The Dr. prescribed some medicine that had codeine in it to help with the pain for the first couple days. I gave it to him maybe 3 times over the first 2 days. He didn’t like it very much, but he never really complained about being in pain! I gave him tylenol a few times when he would say his leg hurt, but now he doesn’t ever say anything about it. I’m glad he’s dealing with it so well! We only use his wheelchair when we go to church or when he goes to school. Inside the house it’s easier to carry him.

busy

Here’s Jonas playing Nintendo at the hospital. He loved playing, even though we couldn’t figure out how to play the games! LOL

busy1

Brynnan wanted to push Jonas in his wheelchair as we left the hospital. Papa stayed close by to make sure he didn’t run into the wall, which he came close to a few times.

busy7

One of my cuties!

busy8

Jonas lounging on the floor watching TV. This is a common occurrence these days. I’ve been so busy it’s hard to fight him about it. I feel bad so whenever we have a nice day I usually take the boys outside for a bit. Hopefully all this tube time won’t ruin their brains too much! LOL

Brynnan is getting so big. He LOVES helping out around the house! He clears his plate and cup off the table, likes to help stir food for dinner and breakfast. He loves to “Stir fast!!” as he says. I cut his hair a couple weeks ago and he looks sooo different!

busy21

Here’s Brynnan at the Zoo before his hair cut….

busy6

And here he is after his hair cut! What a cutie!:)

busy9

And here’s my cutie cuddling under his new “baby” quilt his Aunt Tiffani finally sent him, after 2 and a half years. LOL:) Thanks, Tiffani! He loves it! That first day he had to have it on him or he’d get mad!

Mark and I are doing well. We started looking for houses this week and found the perfect one so we’ll see how that goes. They excepted the offer we made on it, but we have to wait until Monday to make sure our debt to income ratio isn’t too high. We’ve paid off a lot of credit cards so I don’t think it’ll be too bad. So we’re crossing our fingers:) We’ve been house hunting off and on for over 2 years now. We were very close to buying one in 2007, but that deal went under and we’re very glad!!!

busy12

Here’s the outside of the house. I took the picture off the website. No there isn’t any snow there now!! Thankfully!

I had 2 photography sessions last Saturday. I’ve posted one up on the website so far and now I need to move onto the next. I have 2 sessions scheduled for May already and that’s probably enough for the month! LOL I’ve realized that being a mom and a photographer is hard work! I just need to get used to having more business. Mark and I also got hair cuts a couple weeks ago. Mark desperately needed one and I didn’t even recognize him when he came home!:) LOL Jonas got one too, but his was so long you can’t really tell it was cut that much.

busy111

Here’s the after picture of Mark. I figured I’d only put up this one because he’d be really embarrased about the before picture. Isn’t he such a cutie?:) Hehehe

busy10

I thought this photo was cute of Brynnan and me. This was after my hair cut, if you can tell.

We hope you’re all doing well! Thanks for stopping by our blog:)

Brynnan fears the very idea of poop

18 04 2009

brynnan-pudding

Mark and I ate lunch after the boys today, but as we were having chips with our sandwiches, our children decided they needed to join us. Mark gave the boys Crystal Light to drink, but was drinking Kool-Aid himself, if only to insure that he never lose any weight and stay my chubby hubby. :) Jonas, imagining that Mark is drinking something different asks him for it. Mark tried to convenince him otherwise, but Jonas doubted him, and so Mark let him drink some from his cup.

“I want some!” Brynnan declaired in his unintelligable squawkings. We don’t really like Brynnan to have lots of sugar, he’s bad enough without it. Whenever he does get Kool-aid, we usually water it down a lot. Having it straight from the cup would be havok upon us all, so Mark told him, “It’s the same as in your cup.”

I decided to scare the idea of wanting any away from him: “There’s poop in daddy’s cup.” That shut Brynnan up and he returned to eating his chips. So we’re eating, talking, finishing up our meal when Jonas asks Mark for another drink. Mark brings the cup over to Jonas to have a drink, and as Jonas starts drinking it, all of us have failed to notice Brynnan has been watching this intently.

With wide eyes, and a deep concern for his brother’s well-being, he yells out to stop Jonas’ impending mistake: “POOOOOOP!!!!”

The Jonas Funnies of April 16, 2009

16 04 2009

Mark was talking to Jonas after he got off work today and here’s how their conversation went:

Mark “Do you want a little sister, Jonas?”

Jonas: “No.”

Mark: “Do you want a little brother?”

Jonas: “No, I just want Brynnan.”

Mark: “Do you want another Brynnan?”

Jonas: “Yeah, I want a green one.”

Mark:”Do you want a little girl Brynnan?”

Jonas: “No.”

Mark: “Do you want a little dog Brynnan?”

Jonas: “Yes. A dog Brynnan.”

Easter Fun

14 04 2009

We had a nice Easter celebration…. until dinner, I’ll get to that story in a bit.  Mark and I put together the kids’ Easter Baskets and gave them to the kids before church. They loved them, even though Brynnan will be the only one to eat the candy! LOL Jonas is very picky about what candy he eats and Jelly beans and Reeses Easter Eggs are not in the mix for him! I guess I should’ve known.

easter

Instead of using that annoying grass stuff at the bottom of their baskets we used tissue paper, Mark’s idea. Brynnan immediately threw it out of his basket for some reason! LOL He also wanted the reeses candy egg opened and then gave it to me after a little nibble. So his basket looks pretty empty with just the eggs.

easter2

Jonas’ basket. He also got the movie “Chicken Little” on Blu-ray, but he had pulled that out by the time I took the photo.

easter3

And last, but not least our baskets. Mark’s is the purple egg shaped one and mine is the bag of goodies. We need to buy another basket. I think Brynnan is the one that doesn’t have one. LOL

After enjoying their baskets we decorated eggs together. I bought some q-tips at Wal-Mart that had dye in the tube part that you could paint with. They didn’t work very well. We could only get 3 out of 5 of them to work. Next year I think we’ll paint them instead with water colors. (I can’t take credit for that idea, my friend Becky did that with her boys! Thanks for the idea Becky!)

easter5

Brynnan wasn’t sure what to think about decorating the eggs.

easter6

Jonas loves to write his name so I helped him write it on one of his eggs:)

easter7

Jonas’ decorated eggs. He’s a great artist, right?:)

easter8

Brynnan finishing up his eggs. Mark did most of the decorating. That’s why you see most of his eggs are solid colors.

easter9

Jonas putting the finishing touches on his eggs.

At church we had a missionary farewell, which Mark and I thought was wierd. So we didn’t get to sing all the nice Easter songs that you normally sing on Easter Sunday. Oh, well, not that big of a deal.

The kids and I took naps after church until 5:00. When I woke up I wasn’t feeling well and chalked it up to me being hungry since I last ate at 10:30. We had invited the Heath’s over for dinner as well as Dustin’s Mom, Betty. We were all providing a part of the meal and I didn’t think anything of me feeling “hungry”, but in hind sight I should’ve cancelled our plans. Once we got all set up and ready to eat I didn’t feel like eating at all!:P I sat and talked a little, but mainly just listened. I felt bad about being such a bad hostess, but I knew they understood.

easter4

Here are Jonas and Libby enjoying their meal. My kids only ate the rolls!:P

easter10

And here are all of the kids eating, and the adults in the background. Megann took this picture and it turned out better than mine so I took it off her blog.

Anyway, the Heath’s left at about 7:00. And a little while later I threw up and finally felt a little better. After putting the kids to bed I went to bed too. I woke up feeling even worse, all aches and pains. So I was sick all day. Megann was so nice and called to see how I was doing. Libby threw up during the night too!:P Soooo sorry I got you guys sick!!

I had Mark buy me gingerale and saltine’s before going to work. What a good hubby!:) I ate and drank those when I felt hungry. I had some photography work to do so I spent half my sick day doing that:P I didn’t even get to take a nap. Mark and I watched some TV later that night and I went to bed feeling a lot better!! So I woke up this morning about 95% better. After taking Jonas to school I felt 90% better. I guess actually getting out and exerting more energy is harder than normal. Mark was sick to day and stayed home. I was his nurse… which, if you ask him, I wasn’t very good at. LOL I just find it very annoying when he gets really sick because he complains and whines that he’s going to die alllllll day long!! I realize that I complain and whine, but it’s nothing like Mark!! Plus I still have to do all my motherly duties when I’m sick. How nice is it for him that he can stay home from work?!

Anyway, So I’m not sure if we’ll be getting out much this week. I’ve already caused 3 too many people to get sick and I don’t want to cause anymore damage! Hope you’re all having a good week!

Uhhh, Can You Say LAZY?!! I CAN!

8 04 2009

Ok, So I had big plans for today! I really was going to unpack all our clothes and do some laundry. I really was going to wash the covers on the carseats, especially after yesterdays accident in the car! and I really was going to do some photo editing for a session I did 2 weeks ago!! But I just got home yesterday and one needs some time to just be lazy, am I right? Please back me up on this Moms and friends!:) I can picture the look on Marks face when he sees the house after work!! I guess I have a couple hours to rectify my wrong doing. I better get started……. yeah right! Hahaha

We made it HOME!!

8 04 2009

YEA!!!  First off here’s a funny video of the kids Friday April 3rd the night we got to Mark’s parents house. I thought it was so funny and cute!

Oops, here’s the right video:

Jonas’ surgery went well, as Mark said in the last post. I was so nervous the whole time I sat in the waiting room! It wasn’t a life threatening surgery or anything, but he’s my baby!!! He shouldn’t have to go through any of this, right? So I have the right to worry!

Anyway, after the surgery Dr. Showalter came out and talked with me for a bit. I really like him for a Dr! when you have a Dr. that you don’t see all the time like a pediatrician, it’s hard to get to know the doctor and really feel “connected’, but Dr. Showalter is really nice and I feel like he cares about Jonas as if he were a patient he sees all the time. I was able to go  back and see Jonas 30 minutes after he got out of surgery. He was asleep and didn’t want to wake up!! He finally did when he realized I was there. He had a barky cough and couldn’t talk very well because of the tube he had in his throat during surgery. He ate 4 popsicles within an hours time! LOL

We got all settled into his permanant room and watched TV. IT was a pretty boring day… Jonas was kinda out of it for a while after his surgery. Here are some videos to prove it:)

Funny boy, right?:)

Monday night I slept in the hospital bed next to Jonas. It wasn’t too comfortable, but not as bad as it could’ve been. They had a cot for me to use, but I figured sharing the bed would be better! We slept pretty well. The nurse had to do vitals every 4 hours so we were woken up twice in the night.

We woke up at about 7:30 yesterday morning and Dr. Showalter came in an hour later. He said we could go home!! Yea! I was surprised because I thought we’d be there until today. So we got all ready to go. Mark’s dad was coming in for surgery at 11:30 so they came early and brought Brynnan. Dad helped me pack up the car and get Brynnan’s carseat in and then we walked out with Jonas in his wheel chair. Brynnan had fun pushing him for a little bit. I’ll post pictures later! I have a ton of work to catch up on!!:P

We said good bye and headed back to Mark’s parents house to pack everything up and eat lunch. I took a quick cat nap and then we left at about 3:00. The boys slept for about 2 hours. Jonas woke up and said he wasn’t feeling good:P I was talking with Mark on the phone and I looked back at Jonas who started vomiting all over himself and carseat!!!!!! Ahhhh!! That was NOT fun at all! I didn’t know how far the next exit was so I had to pull over on the interstate to clean him up! Luckily I had diaper wipes and an extra set of clothes handy. It took about 20 minutes or so to clean him up. It was getting close to dinner by that time so we stopped 40 minutes later in Pocatello to eat at Taco John’s. Let me tell you… NEVER AGAIN will I eat there!! It was disgusting! I prefer taco Bell definitely!!!

We finally arrived home at 7pm:) Yea!! Mark took Jonas inside and played video games with him. Lainey was outside playing so Brynnan hung out with her for about an hour while I unloaded the car and then cleaned it up hoping it wouldn’t smell of vomit!! Mark did bring in all the heavy suitcases and Jonas’ wheel chair for me, such a good hubby. I vaccuumed out the car while I was at it and underneath the car seats. It was good I did that because there was vomit under Jonas’ seat!:P

So we are alive and now we’re home and enjoying being in our own beds. Jonas is glad to be home to play games he actually know how to play!:)

And the last video in this post, I promise!

He’s A Liiiive!

6 04 2009

Jonas is fine, apparently, and eating popsicles and playing Gamecube. And to think, he didn’t even go to an actual children’s hospital. (I wonder what they’d have done for him there?)

Also, watch this trailer for a movie you will (hopefully) never have to watch. It’ll “really tick the devil off”. (More than likely not, just watch it any way and laugh.)

I, for one, will never “C” her dance.
